Project Vision

In the ICT society there is no place discrimination factors coming from the technology so the technical developments have to take into account the obstacles related to persons different abilities. All these considerations bring to the application of Universal Design concepts also in educational contexts. Courseware development are often excluding by ODL and ICT applications people with disabilities (upper limb impairments, tremor...).

Project Objectives

1. to identify and study all the obstacles at level of GUI interface for people with physical disability accessing to courseware related materials
2. to develop guidelines for assuring a larger accessibility characteristic to the computer applications in education
3. to provide a courseware example comprising a list of typical items and GUI implementations
4. to disseminate project results toward educational institutions operating in EU countries
